Families – Read Lk 8:19-21

One day, Jesus is preaching. The people are all around him, so that he can’t even move. People excited, demanding, longing, pushing, shoving. The smell of sweat and the heat and the noise are overpowering. Suddenly, there are voices from the back – “your family is here – your mother and brothers”. Jesus looks up. “Who are my mother and brothers?,” he says – and the crowd is suddenly quiet. “The people who hear and do what God wants!”
Talk to Mary, Jesus, and the crowd. How do they feel hearing Jesus?
