NATIONAL COUNCIL

CRA’s National Council is the governing body of CRA. Members are elected at the National Assembly of Leaders by, and from the membership of CRA, made up of leaders of Religious Institutes and Societies of Apostolic Life. The National Council normally meets six times per year and addresses issues of importance to Religious, the Church and society.

The National Council comprises of the Executive and Councillors who come from across Australia, from small and large congregations.

Fr Peter Jones OSA, CRA PRESIDENT

Peter Jones OSA, Provincial of the Augustinians of the Province of Australasia was elected as the new President of Catholic Religious Australia at the 2022 National Assembly, along with a new Executive and new Council.

Before being Provincial, Peter was responsible for various aspects of the Augustinian Formation Program and was involved in the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Augustinian Novitiate in Cebu, Philippines. He has been a Council Member since 2019 and has served on CRA Committees.
