Choosing Companions Carefully – Read Luke 6:12-16

Contemplation

Jesus has gone up a mountain. It’s dark and cold but he likes these high places as they are good places to pray. He knows that he can’t carry on his mission without people to help him teach and show the way … but he also knows that it won’t be easy and that some of these people will hurt him. One will even hand him over to people who will kill him. In the morning, after a long night praying, he makes his choices.

  • Talk to Jesus and to the 12 people he chooses?

  • What does Jesus feel when he’s praying?

  • Why does he choose each person? What are their strengths and weaknesses?

  • Jesus invites me, too. So what about me? Why does Jesus choose me and what are my strengths and weaknesses.
