Back in our home country, we are walking through a place of hills and towns – a dry and dusty country but with lakes and a big river nearby. People are coming up to Jesus. One of them is battling to make himself understood. He doesn’t hear or speak too well, and it’s clear this is causing problems in his community. Jesus takes him to one side, away from the crowd. He spits and touches his ears and mouth. Suddenly the man can hear and speak!
What does Jesus’ touch feel like?
Do I ever feel separated from others?
Can Jesus’ touch open up options and new ways of understanding my world?
