A Broken Break – Read Mark 1: 35-39
Contemplation
Up early in the morning, we are out of bed long before sunrise. Still tired from the long day of healings, the night is cold. Stars twinkle and the ground crunches underfoot. Time for some prayer alone in the cold silence. We walk for a while in the dark to a place far away from people. Night birds call but otherwise everything is quiet as we pray.
Footsteps. Here come the disciples, chatting, worried voices, looking. They’re worried – everyone is after us, everyone needs Him. Tired, he’s still up for it. Off to drive out the evil.
How do I feel, what do I say, when my plans change?
How do I answer people who need me when I need a rest?
How do I balance rest time and work time and the need to pray?
