Then, it seems, the worries are gone. Jesus, tired after the long trip asks for a donkey to ride on – a symbol of a king who comes in peace. Then we’re into the old city, the sounds of bustle and city life….and, the crowds. Suddenly cheering, happy people everywhere, waving palms and throwing them at our feet. “Praise” “Hail to the King, the son of David”. Joy and peace everywhere. It seems the fears were overblown.
