Friends – Read Matt 9:2-8

Contemplation

Suddenly there’s a lot of noise and shouting. Here come some desperate people carrying something. It’s a stretcher and a man is lying on it. He can’t move. Jesus says something really odd- “Be cheerful – your sins are forgiven!” What does that mean? Can’t only God forgive sins? “Is it easier to tell someone your sins are forgiven or to walk?” asks Jesus. “Well, I have been given the ability to do both. Let me show you.” The man gets up, groggy, from his stretcher. Everyone’s amazed!

  • Speak to Jesus, the man and his friends and the others in the crowd?

  • Do I find people confusing sin and disability?

  • Am I comfortable being free?
