Friends – Read Matt 9:2-8
Contemplation
Suddenly there’s a lot of noise and shouting. Here come some desperate people carrying something. It’s a stretcher and a man is lying on it. He can’t move. Jesus says something really odd- “Be cheerful – your sins are forgiven!” What does that mean? Can’t only God forgive sins? “Is it easier to tell someone your sins are forgiven or to walk?” asks Jesus. “Well, I have been given the ability to do both. Let me show you.” The man gets up, groggy, from his stretcher. Everyone’s amazed!
Speak to Jesus, the man and his friends and the others in the crowd?
Do I find people confusing sin and disability?
Am I comfortable being free?
