Introduction
Stay awhile with Luke is a set of contemplations on the Synoptic Gospel of Luke written in a discursive way. Each exercise progresses sequentially through the Gospel of Luke, providing Ignatian contemplations of most of the narrative sections. This does not include the Passion and Resurrection of the Lord.
Each passage presumes that the reader has access to the New Testament of the Bible. It is suggested that the passage be read several times before beginning the prayer. The reference is given in the heading of each passage, followed by Imaginative contemplation, where the text provides some extra comments and invites the reader to enter into the scene
where we are invited to imagine we are present with those experiencing the event.
The section entitled For Further Reflection could well be used in the daily Examen.
Each exercise finishes with a short Prayer.
