Part-time Justice Research Officer for Catholic Religious Australia (CRA) – maternity position.

This role is an exciting opportunity to support CRA in advocating on justice issues, critical to Leaders of Catholic religious congregations. The purpose of the role is to undertake evidence-based research, produce publications and assist the CRA Justice Committee and the CRA Secretariat in advocating for the marginalised and vulnerable in our society.

The CRA office is located in North Sydney, subject to COVID-19 considerations, working from home is possible. The position is for two days a week (Monday and probably Tuesday) for a maternity position for about 8 months.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • A passion for justice and advocating for the vulnerable

  • Demonstrated evidence-based research skills, together with the ability to evaluate research and information within a framework of Catholic Social Teaching

  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church and religious congregations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to confidently communicate key messages in a reasoned manner

  • Experience in producing publications using the Microsoft Office suite and/or any other publishing software
