The Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul will this November celebrate 100 years of service in Australia, marking a century since the first Sisters arrived in Orange, New South Wales, at the invitation of the Bishop of Bathurst.

A Queensland-born Sister of Mercy who played a key role in gaining Commonwealth approval for the inclusion of a Brisbane campus in Australia's first national Catholic University has been recognised with an honorary doctorate. 

As Bishop René Ramirez RCJ began his ministry as the ninth Bishop of Sandhurst, his first message to the faithful was one of gratitude, hope and an invitation to be led by the Holy Spirit.

One of the oldest religious communities in the Diocese of Parramatta has met to decide on its future, and to give thanks for the hundreds of members over the years who have dedicated their lives to help the less fortunate, reports Catholic Outlook.  

Two texts - one from Pope Leo XIV and one from the Gospel of John - shaped our thinking as we began to prepare for the 2026 CRA National Assembly. They enabled us to look at our religious consecration in a fresh way. Our lives are firmly rooted in ‘an adventure of love with God’ that sends us outwards ‘for the life of the world’.
