Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) has purchased the historic St Joseph’s Convent in Goulburn from the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart, securing the long-term stewardship of the Convent and Chapel site, reports The Catholic Weekly.

The Sisters of Mercy, in the spirit of Catherine McAuley, are called to be in a very particular and unmistakable way, living images of God‘s mercy as it is made known to us in the life, teachings and ministry of Jesus, Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB has said.

Speaking to about 1,000 people taking part in the ‘Living Nativity’ tradition at the Basilica of St Mary Major, Pope Leo challenged them to spread the message that we are never alone and continue to be “pilgrims of hope, bearers of consolation and inspiration for all those you meet”, reports Vatican News.
