Mercy Health has joined global tech leaders and public and private institutions worldwide in endorsing the Vatican’s ethical approach to artificial intelligence as the first Australian health and aged care provider to sign the Rome Call for AI Ethics.

The cause for sainthood for Australian-born doctor, Religious and missionary in India Mary Glowrey has advanced after Pope Leo XIV recognised her ‘heroic virtues’ last month, with Venerable Mary of the Sacred Heart Glowrey, as she will now be titled, just the second Australian, after St Mary MacKillop, to be accorded this status, Melbourne Catholic reports.
