Giving back to the people of Thailand

Australia will always be my home, writes Sr Frances Hayes PBVM in Global Sisters Report. But a chance sighting on the Palms Australia website — looking for volunteers to work overseas to share their skills and develop the capacity of local partners — resulted in the opportunity for me to temporarily call another place home. This next phase of my journey will take me to St Joseph’s School, Mae Ramat, not far from the Thai-Myanmar border where I will volunteer in the teaching of English.

Interreligious relations must be passed on to next generation

The teaching and practice of interreligious relations must be handed on to the next generation, writes Columban priest, Fr Patrick McInerney. They are the ones who will embed it in society, and they are the ones who will carry it into the future. That is why I am always happy to assist those who work with school children, teachers and catechists, who then pass on the teaching in the classroom.
