John Manouk
John Manouk has a broad range of experience in management, social services and pastoral work. He began his journey in youth work and social welfare before studying theology and working for the church. For the last 5 years, John has been the Mission Integration Coordinator (and previously National Pastoral Care Coordinator/Pastoral Carer) for St Vincent’s Care Services. John combines his experience as a Pastoral Carer with his managerial skills to lead and develop teams by equipping them to more fully understand their organisation’s mission, vision and values. John has recently joined Southern Cross Care Queensland as the Head of Mission & Pastoral Services
Mike Jones
Mike Jones is a serving permanent Deacon within the Archdiocese of Brisbane. He has worked extensively in education and pastoral work and for the last 11 years he has worked as a Pastoral Care Associate in Catholic Health and Aged Care. Mike has qualifications in education, leadership and theology and has served on numerous church committees and councils. In 2018, Mike was appointed Deacon to the Healthcare sector within the Archdiocese of Brisbane. Mike is currently the Pastoral Carer at Southern Cross Care Holland Park – Duhig Village
Sandra Glaister
Sandra Glaister has operated at senior levels in aged services for more than 20 years working across both not for profit and the private sector. Currently Chief of Governance, Risk and Research with Southern Cross Care Qld, Sandra’s career has spanned strategic and operational leadership within the portfolios of home care, residential aged care, retirement living, acute (hospital) care and disaster management. Sandra has a Master of Business Administration – Master of Dispute Resolution, a Bachelor of Education (Nursing), is a Registered Nurse and has completed Graduate Certificates in Research, and Rural Leadership
Phillip Good
Prof Phillip Good is a specialist in palliative medicine. He’s passionate about seeing that his patients have the highest quality of life possible for as long as possible.
Prof Phillip Good has a particular interest in research involving palliative care patients, patient and carer experience, and palliative care for people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
Phillip received specialist training across Australia, then spent several years in Newcastle before returning to Brisbane. During this time he also completed a PhD on evidence-based palliative care at the University of Newcastle.
Phillip is the Director of St Vincent's Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Brisbane, offering both inpatient and home-based care. He also actively pursues his research interest

I have worked in the specialties of Oncology and Palliative Care for 40years both inpatient and community settings within Australia and overseas.
I commenced my palliative care career at a Catholic Hospice in New Zealand which laid the foundation of my ethical framework of practice for the future.
Psychosocial support of patients, families and carers has always been most rewarding so establishing a counselling practice completed my career goals.
Throughout my career I have advocated for patient choice in healthcare particularly when facing end of life, therefore, when presented with a role that opened a different lens to end of life choice, I commenced my role at the Mater Hospital as Advance Care Planning Coordinator December 2022.
This State -wide role was developed to facilitate Mater’s response to Voluntary Assisted Dying to ensure it aligned with Maters Mission and ethics of care and support all personal involved in responding to VAD requests.
